Soaking up the Holiday Spirit at the Ritz-Carlton Toronto

The Ritz-Carlton Toronto has been a one-of-a-kind destination for savvy travellers for almost six years now. Set in the heart of downtown Toronto, the luxury hotel is a visual feast with its 400-piece art collection, a sanctuary with its exquisite European Spa My Blend and a revelation for all epicureans with its exclusive restaurants and bars offer.

For the Holidays, the posh establishment is offering a unique experience, from their stately lobby to their renowned spa passing by their one-of-a-kind DEQ Lounge. Here's the perfect "Pre-Holiday" itinerary at the luxury Ritz-Carlton Toronto.

In the morning

For a little pre-holiday pampering, Spa My Blend  by Clarins has created a variety of seasonal treatments. The inspiring selection includes : ‘Spa’liday packages, the Jingle ‘Belle’, Snowman or Holiday Glow. Interesting fact : My Blend is a new skincare brand from Paris that is available exclusively in Canada at The Ritz-Carlton Toronto.

In the afternoon

A tradition dating back to the 19th century, high tea offers a midday break for indulging in both conversation and culinary delights. At the Ritz-Carlton Toronto, the Afternoon Tea experience honours this tradition with a selection of classic and themed teas. And, just for the Holiday season, the hotel has created a special Afternoon Tea menu representing some of the most iconic characters of the beloved holiday story “The Nutcracker”. Featuring themed décor and a assortment of goodies, guests can enjoy a glass of sparkling wine along with artisanal teas, white or dark hot chocolate, followed by an appearance by the Nutcracker Prince himself.

In the evening

TOCA is offering, during the month of December, a 2 or 3-course menu starting at only 32$ every night. The restaurant serves handcrafted Italian cuisine complemented by seasonal flavours and locally-sourced produces. The menu is signed by Chef Oliver Glowig, one of Rome’s most celebrated culinary leaders. There you will also find the only cheese cave in Canada, open for tours and tastings.

At night

Sleep like a baby in one of Ritz-Carlton Toronto's 263 Luxurious Guest Rooms, including 56 Corner Suites, 4 Simcoe Suites, two Wellington Suites, and one Ritz-Carlton Suite.

All rooms have a City or Water view. Also, all guest rooms feature: floor to ceiling windows, heated perimeter flooring, handcrafted Frette Italian 400 Thread Count Bed Linen,  Deep soaker tub, plush Ritz-Carlton terry Bathrobes, rich African Anigre Wood Millwork, Wireless Internet, Coffee, Tea, Bottled Water presentation refreshed daily. (Nespresso Coffee in Suites and Executive Club Level Rooms)

For additional pampering and attention, The Ritz-Carlton Club Level offers personal concierge and staff as well as continuous complimentary food and beverages presentations throughout the day. There, you can enjoy breakfast, a light lunch and snacks all day while enjoying a hard-to-beat view of the Toronto skyline.

Let's not forget the life-sized chocolate train

To get into the Holiday spirit, a visit to the Ritz-Carlton Toronto is a must. In addition, you can also jump into the Ritz-Carlton Express, a life-sized chocolate train who "arrived" in the hotel lobby December 1st.

Made with 700 pounds of chocolate, the life-size locomotive stands tall at 12x5x8 feet and comes complete with its own ‘steam’.  With edible gold accents adorning the outside, the train also features a complimentary candy station inside the car. I did get "on board" the Ritz-Carlton Express earlier this week. The train will be accessible to all in the hotel lobby until the end of the year.

Now, all aboard for the Holidays !
