Intercontinental opened a second property in Los Angeles that is sure to impress

The InterContinental brand opened their first Los Angeles property in the business district of Century City in 2007. The hotel remains an example of lavish architecture in Los Angeles ever since. But, last year, the IHG group decided to open a second location in the downtown area. The new InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is located in the Wilshire Grand Center building, standing 73 stories tall in the heart of downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts and sports districts. And, spoiler alert: it is absolutely magnificent.

What makes this new property so impressive

InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown stands as the tallest building west of Chicago and is the largest InterContinental property in the Americas. The brand-new hotel grazes the sky at 1,100 feet and 73 stories high.

Sophisticated, edgy and metropolitan InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown shines through interactive art and design features stretching from the 31st floor where the hotel begins (lobby) to the 73rd floor (rooftop lounge). Every element of the design is inspired by the Los Angeles landscape and the result is: a luxurious, modern, sophisticated and inviting decor. Furthermore, the feeling you get when you access the lobby level located on the 31st floor and see the view is hard to beat.

Luxury (and amazing views) can be found everywhere

In addition to the ultra-luxurious lobby area - located on the 31st floor, an amazing and unique feature - guest rooms span from the 31st to the 66th floor, featuring 889 elegantly appointed guest rooms including 109 suites. Floor-to-ceiling windows in every room provide spectacular views and each room features flat-panel televisions and in-room entertainment systems. The "Californian-inspired" wallpapers are a very nice touch to complement the luxurious, minimalist but far-from-boring decor. Luxury bath products, custom slippers and robes are also non-negligible details.

A sexy rooftop pool, lounge and restaurant

The gorgeous property also offers a menu of luxury amenities, including an outdoor pool that offers views of the Los Angeles skyline in addition to a "wet" restaurant and bar, cabanas, a state of-the-art fitness center, valet parking and first-class concierge service.

A killer breakfast buffet (with a view)

Few floors down, in the morning, at Dekkadance restaurant, they serve a killer "breakfast buffet" that is a million miles from what you can expect from a traditional buffet. Offering a crepe and waffle station, a juice and coffee bar, smoothies, an impressive variety of food and delicacies, without forgetting:  the views, again and again...
